Liked this:

Spike clamped his hand over her mouth and pushed her into the wall.

“Gloves are off now, kitten. I’ll tell you the same thing I first told the Watcher. You shut your mouth or I’ll shut it for you. See, he knows how to pick his fights. There are a lot better things you could be doin’ than worryin’ about me.”

Over his shoulder, Buffy saw Wesley give a barely perceptible nod.

And I'm curious about this:

As Wesley started after them—making sure Fred was beside and not behind him—he realized that Buffy and Spike were bickering like lovers, not fighting like mortal enemies. Not that he particularly wanted Buffy to have to face off against Spike (because right now she’d lose, a voice whispered), but why did his Slayers always sleep with vampires?

Who did Faith sleep with?
Thank you so much!

Oh, Faith got around...

good chappie, thank you. wes' chapter ending comment is a bit of an understatement.
Yeah, nothing is ever that simple with Spike. Glad you enjoyed!

Excuse the second comment...

“No. You got it backward. You’re just the same as her.” Been thinking about this.. did Spike kill the other slayer to protect Buffy.
Maybe just my convoluted logic.

She glared at him. “Have you ‘eaten’?” Doesn't mean he killed someone.. he was brought "food" I believe at Buffy's home when he was protecting her.. need to go back and reread..

Enjoying the frequent updates..I like Spike as a vampire.. but of course befuddled by his attraction and love for Buffy. And the banter between the two is great. And as Wes said.. lovers not enemies.
The "just the same as her" line referred to the girl that Buffy saw Spike killing in the alley. And she was just a girl, nothing to do with the Slayer.

And, big oopsie on my part. Spike is definitely still killing. Originally, the "Have you eaten" line was something like "Have you killed someone?" but I didn't like the way it sounded. I changed it, but I didn't mean for it to give the impression that Spike isn't killing, because he is, and he's not going to change so quickly. But I just went and changed the line to "Did you eat someone tonight?" Which I guess could be read as him not drinking all, but it's less ambiguous than "eaten." Anyway, sorry for any confusion, and thanks for pointing it out!

Maybe once Spike thinks about his choices and the benefits to certain ones he'll have that epiphany too. LOL

Really good update. Spike is already in deeper than a one night stand and more than his libido is interested even if he hasn't put two and two together. Ditto Buffy....had she not seen the kill she's likely still be all over him.

Yeah, if Buffy hadn't seen Spike killing, she wouldn't have a problem with him, even with being the Slayer. Spike is more hung up on the Slayer issue than she is. Thanks for reviewing!

Was wondering when Wes would point out the connection that Spike has with Slayers; awesome chapter; love the banter b/n B & S; can't wait to see how this progresses; is B going to ask S to stop killing?? Hee hee; also can't wait for more Spuffy goodness! Love this story; please update again soon!
Well, Buffy will ask Spike to stop killing, in a roundabout way, but to say more would spoil it. :) Glad you're enjoying!

Great chapter G - I loved the Spike lurking around driving everyone crazy.
"Wasn't lurking, I was standing about." LOL Glad you like it, cause he's going to be doing it for a while.
