Author: TalesOfSpike Title: A Reckoning Character/s: Drac: Good Spike: Evil Lilah Month: Challenge #1 (Good__Evil LJ Community) Rating: PG (I think) Summary : Sort of SWBD 'verse but not; not to be regarded as canon for that 'verse as, if you compare dates with recent chapters of Angels and Demons, you'll find that circumstances didn't allow for such a gathering in "the real world" but spikereader and alwaysjbj were getting enthusiastic about Spike in his formal wear and the Drac challenge all at the same time, which got me to thinking about Drac turning up at the wedding, but that might spoil Buffy's 'perfect day', so instead let's imagine what might happen if he turned up at the stag night/bachelor party... For those of you unfamiliar with the 'verse: Buffy and Spike are together. Spike claimed Buffy some time ago and after a bit she got over her inhibitions and returned the favour. Various things happened differently, like Spike pointing out how badly faked the death of Connor's adopted father was, so that Angel never had his stay at the bottom of the ocean. Cordy got rescued before Jasmine's possession of her was complete. When the AI crowd were shunning Wes, Buffy asked him to come back to Sunnydale where he now has his own business, a sexy Mexican attorney with a half-demon daughter for his girlfriend and so on... For those familiar with the series, just assume that the FE/Caleb/bringers/Turok Han have all been dealt with and that instead of Spike and Wes heading north to Gilroy, they, Giles and Clem headed south to LA. It's Friday night and there's just over a week until the wedding... Post-Chosen, Post NFA. Spike finds Buffy in Rome and it's now their wedding day. Unashamedly fluffy, smutty and funny. Oh, and bitey of course! WARNING - extreme sugar overload ahead!

What happens when the fight is over and two warriors find themselves with no one left to turn to in the world except each other? When those whom they love and trust turn their backs on them because of mistakes made? Will the casual bonds of their friendship grow to be something more? And when old friends make their presence known, will the trust built be enough to withstand the harsh scrutiny that their relationship is forced to bear?

Buffy is 19 when she moves to Sunnydale with her mother and 17 year old sister Dawn after her parents bitter divorce. After only living in the town for a few weeks, Buffy is attacked and illegally turned one night by a member of the Aurelian line. From that moment on, her life is turned upside down and she has to learn to survive as a newly turned vampire under the rigid laws society has put in place to ensure the survival of their species, and in the process is inadvertently dragged into the midst of a bitter war between two rivaling vampire clans.

Buffy finally confesses to Spike that she loves him. Set middle season 7.

After leaving the Hellmouth, Spike displays some new traits, leaving everyone confused.

A sequel to a short (6200+) off-canon Season Four fic – Even Demons Need Friends, but I don’t think you need to have read that story (although it’s kinda fun...). All you need to know is that this is a non-canon Season 5 in which Glory is there searching for her Key, Joyce is sick, Spike is unchipped and living in another city. At the end of the previous story, he’d asked Buffy to call him if she needed help.
They don’t have a relationship yet; they weren’t even much more than canon Season Four semi-enemies, with an unrecognized and unacknowledged sexual attraction, when Ethan’s spell to turn Giles into a Fyral demon wrought some important changes in a very short period of time. But not changes sufficient to make it likely that a slayer, with a human boyfriend and a firm belief in what’s right and acceptable, and an old vampire, who has just regained his ability to hunt and feed, are likely to see any kind of a future for them. In spite of some surprising revelations about how they may feel about each other.
You can assume that the rest of Season Four and some of Season Five have proceeded pretty much as in canon, but without Spike’s presence. That absence, and the reason for it, has changed things enough that I think it’s fair to call this an AU Season Five. Some things will be familiar, some things obviously will not, so don’t go looking for an identical timeline or identical events.

Season Four, what if Buffy had not gotten the Gem of Amara off Spike when they fought? How would the fight have gone, and how might she have gotten away?  What difference might that incident, as well as the Initiative's activities, have made in their relationship? Could/would a vampire and a slayer who hate each other make another truce to join forces against a common enemy? A what might a trip to Las Vegas have to do with anything?

To meet a prompt at sb_fag-ends - what if Spike had caught Buffy's eye in that club? (probably intended to be set in The Girl in Question, but I chose to set it in the Bronze season 2)  Not sure where this is going to go, if anywhere, but it could almost be a prequel for the Gentleman.... ficlets. Or, it could be the beginning of its own little Spuffy world...
