A crossover with LoTR set a few months after The Gift. Spike jumped into the portal rather than Buffy and is transported to Middle-Earth where he acclimates to a new life during the Battle of the Five Armies and afterward. Back home, Buffy and the others mount a rescue mission for Spike but end up sending themselves to a strange new world with a familiar face . B/S, W/T, A/X, G/Other, Spike/Dawn friendship. Rated R for language, violence and sexual situations. A response to an intriguing challenge posted at the Bloodshedverse but slightly tweaked to fit my own wishes. For those faithful fans that have contacted me wondering… I promise that I’m still working on both The Kindred Series and The Path Less Traveled, but I just couldn’t get this one out of my head until I put it down in writing. Sometimes a visit from on old friend really isn't a good thing! Giles manages to lose something and it is upto Buffy and Spike to chase across the world after it. Their journey dicated by the flip of a coin which under the control of chaos magicks.

I asked my beta what sort of fic she might like for her birthday. Here's what she asked for...

" So, if you feel inspired, what appeals to me is either Spike or Wes. If you pick Spike and want him to be involved with someone, it should be Buffy; if you pick Wes, I don't have any strong feelings about it. I'm open as to whether it's BtVS or AtS, and when, but some of the things I enjoy are Spike irritating Angel (without too much Angel bashing), Spike and Joyce friendship, Wes running Angel Investigations or his own business, Wes or Giles succeeding where the Council fails, and kittens. It could be part of your current storyline, if you'd like. Mood: funny and/or action. Must have a happy ending."

I can't say I managed to cover all the bases but I had a decent try.

Spike returns to Sunnydale pre-Lovers' Walk and begins his hunt. My first ever fic.

Summary: A response to redwulf50’s challenge at Elysian Fields. Set between ‘Crush’ and ‘I Was Made to Love You’. Buffy decides that the best way to get rid of the smitten Spike is to give in and date him, since there seems no more sure-fire way of making a guy leave town.

The final part following Finality, Finding The Answers, and Catharsis. Spike makes it to Africa, and Buffy sees Dr. Thomas.

On debatably the crappiest Christmas Eve of her life, Buffy finds herself tangling with demonic hands, a certain chipped vampire, and maybe even some holiday cheer.

Starts off post-chosen, but will eventually post-NFA. Buffy and Spike meet a year after Chosen, but it's not all hugs and puppies. Apocalypse, prophecies and lots and lots of angst and UST- be warned guys. will eventually be a happy!

Spike has had enough of constantly being put down by Buffy and decides to leave - but he wants to talk to her just one more time
