This is my response to the first challenge at the new Good__Evil community started by our own Always__jbj and Selene. I DO plan a sequel. LOL And, because I'm lazy, I'm putting up the whole thing at the same time.

AU, Post-Season Four, as it would be *remembered* by Buffy post-season five... meaning it includes Dawn :). Following the Maggie Walsh/Adam situation, the Initiative was not shut down, but simply placed under new leadership. That was all Riley would tell Buffy before he left her to re-join the Initiative. Around the same time, Spike disappeared, all evidence pointing to his being re-captured by the Initiative. One year later, the Initiative has successfully eliminated almost all of Sunnydale’s vampires and demons, leaving Buffy free to finally enjoy the sort of “normal” life she’s always wanted. Sounds great, right? Could it be too good to be true? (Come on, what do *you* think? hehe)

A bitter and soul sick slayer arrives in Sunnydale for her first day of classes and witnesses Spike and Angel fighting. After Angel flees, her own fight ensues. After the destruction of Sunnydale, Buffy makes her way to Wolfram & Hart, and what she finds there will bring her tears, joy, and greatest love she will ever know.

Set after OMWF, Buffy is at a loss and Spike may be the only one who can help her. A dark angst fic dealing with some extremes of mental and psychological problems, littered with Spuffy.

Spike catches Buffy on Halloween night, but things don't turn out quite the way either one of them expect...
