 In life a lot can happen, people move on, the world changes. You get older, dreams are sometimes unobtainable. How would Buffy cope with getting older -  and what about happiness for her and Spike?  Is that still just out of reach this Christmas?

Just a little bit of Spuffy H/C and psychological/emotional bonding following Robin Wood's attempt to kill Spike. These two keep accidentally hurting each other; can they ever find a way to get past...well, the past...and find their way back to friendship, and maybe even beyond?

Post-NFA Spike survives the battle, but something has gone terribly wrong with the Shanshu. Likewise, Dawn’s life is turned upside down when she begins to experience disturbing nightmares. Clinging tenuously to reality and themselves, in this chapter Dawn and Spike explore the obstacles of lives in constant flux and the connection they share. Spuffy in all the following chapters.

One of those coulda beens...sigh! Holiday schmoop. It takes place between "Wrecked" and "Gone" in season 6. "Wrecked" is the last episode aired before Christmas that year and "Gone" was aired after the New Year.

Spike and Dawn manage to persuade Buffy that what she really needs is some time off, and what better than a night of roller coasters, cotton candy and all the fun of the local fair. She should have known that nothing is ever that simple in Sunnydale. Set in early season six.
