Buffy is haunted by reoccurring dreams of a lost love and how the first slayer came to be. In her quest for understanding, she comes across an ancient tome in which she has an unexplainable deep connection to. Needing to know why and what is locked inside it's pages, she finds herself relying upon some old and unexpected allies for their help. Yet the question remains, if this book is possibly the key to unlocking a mystery generations in the making, is she truly prepared to learn the true origin of a slayer's power?

Set in Season 4, Buffy and the gang are quietly celebrating the holiday season.  Throw in an naughty impromptu roommate and an even naughtier sweetened beverage, and the Scoobies get far more than they were bargaining for.  

In Season Three’s episode “Lover’s Walk,” Buffy and Spike fall victim to a binding spell that was accidentally triggered during the fight at the Magic Box.
 
How will two sworn enemies react when their utmost desire to bring about the other’s death is now replaced with bizarre primal urges and lusty cravings?  Then add a dash of telepathy, Angel as The Brooding Wonder, the Scoobies, and Giles’ frequent spectacle cleaning, and you have the makings of one helluva ride.  Written for VioletRoze88’s challenge on EF of the same title.

Since Spike was seen in LA a few months prior, Wolfram and Hart has taken an interest in the “Slayer of Slayers.” With their knowledge of his recapture by the Initiative, negotiations began. Once Buffy discovered the commandos and The Initiative, she was shown their inner-workings. Based on trust, she joined forces, or so she thought. With Buffy and Spike’s notoriety, Wolfram and Hart saw a lucrative opportunity. Utilizing their skills and ingrained hatred for one another, to showcase them in an underground demon fight club in Los Angeles, where the rich get richer, and only the strongest survive. Now that the ultimate match has now been set --- Vampire against Slayer, how will a recently un-chipped Spike and Buffy react when they are thrust into the world of ‘The Ring’?

Spike reflects on his life, eighty years after Buffy has passed. This story happens at the end of Season 5. Buffy was never resurrected by Willow.
