LOL moments

Apr 06 2007 02:16 am   #1Coquine

Okay, so there's been a thread about the tearjerker moments on BtVS, so how about those moments that made us laugh out loud?

There have been many for me, but just to get the thread rolling, two of my favorites that always, always make me laugh no matter how many times I see them, are:

1.  In Tabula Rasa when everyone is waking up in the Magic Box, and Spike stretches and rolls off the counter and lets out a highly amusing yelp, and

2.  In Season 3 (can't remember episode title) when Buffy can read minds, at the very end of the show Buffy and Giles are walking on campus and she says something along the lines of "Sure. Maybe we could do that if you're not too busy having sex with my mother."  And Giles proceeds to walk directly into a tree, then turns to it as though to ask if it's okay.

*gigglegigglegigglegiggle*  Get's me every time.  What else?

One scene from Buffy v Dracula stands out in my mind, it is when Xander is under the infuence of Dracula and trying to hide it, he slips, then trys to recover, and says "Master......bater"

Oh, there are so many...I'm actually usually fonder of the sly witty humor than the laugh out loud moments, but Spike in Xander's Hawaiian (how the hell do you spell things from Hawaii?) always makes me giggle, as does "You made a bear!"  Spike had a lot of funny moments in season IV. Giles has had his share of funnies - usually something that makes him look ridiculous.

Love the Master-bater line... especially when he follows it up with "Prince of Darkness... bater."

Another Tabula Rasa moment I love is when they open the door and see the vampires and they all scream. Seriously, freeze frame that and go frame by frame. It's hysterical. The looks on their faces, man.

I also like the Abbott and Costello routine in LMPTM, when Buffy and Giles are trying to explain Spike's chip/trigger/soul situation to Wood.

Pretty much all of Something Blue... well, from Spike's proposal to the end, anyway. The beginning's actually kinda sad.

Writing should feel easy, like a monkey driving a speed boat.

I didn't really think about including whole episodes.  For that I'd have to say I think one of the funniest episodes was actually "The Girl In Question" of AtS.  Even though it had the whole icky Buffy/Immortal thing, the Spike/Angel by-play had me in stitches the whole time.

When Anya dresses up as a bunny. I can't can't help it, I always laugh. Anya and Xander's song in OMWF, if I'm not laughing then I'm crying. Does that count? Oh, and the theory song in the same ep until Buffy starts. Joss should have written more of season six. Joss should have written more of all the seasons but suppose I should just be happy he wrote the first one.

Season 1: Willow and Xander are leaving school, and Xander says to Willow, "Hey, you wanna come over to my house for dinner?  My mom's making her famous call to the Chinese place."  My husband doesn't even watch BtVS, and when he overheard that, he cracked up.  I love that line.

In "Intervention" when Willow and Xander confront the real Buffy about sleeping with Spike, thinking that the Buffybot was really Buffy:

Xander: "He's sort of compact, yet well muscled."
Buffy: "I am not sleeping with Spike, but I'm starting to think that YOU might be!"

I love that one :)

Give me Spuffy, or give me death.

IB, I love that dinner line, I use it as one of my away messages on im!

I love Cordelia's "Gee Xander, what are you going to teach when you fail at life, 'Advanced Loser-Being'?" somewhere in S3, I think.

"You made a bear" had me rolling on the floor the first time I heard it.

Also, in Selfless (S7) in the beginning with Anya pre-vengance demon and her boyfriend pre-troll. "Her hips are wide and load-bearing, like those of a Baltic woman. Yours are slender, like the hips of a Baltic woman from a slightly more arid region." Actually, all of that fake Sweedish sends me into fits of giggles. "The troll is doing Olaf impressions!"

[quoted]"Sure. Maybe we could do that if you're not too busy having sex with my mother." And Giles proceeds to walk directly into a tree[/quoted]

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

oooo I like this topic :)

In intervention during the desert scene I always giggle when Buffy mocks Giles about doing the hokey pokey. And I also love the one that IB mentioned above :P

First season episode Nightmares anyone?? Cordelia's nightmare always cracks me up as she's getting dragged along to chess club LOL! hahaha along with Xander's and especially Willow's nightmares... "I.. I had to sing" the look on her face is priceless. That episode always gives me a giggle.

Giles in the car with Spike in A New Man HAHAHAHA lol OMG when he gets out and chases Prof Walsh! I nearly wet my pants...

in season 6 life serial heehee I love the nerd trio in this ep... and the time loop scene with the mummy hand.....

omg there's so many more but I'll stop now. :)

Don't worry, be happy :)
Apr 06 2007 03:59 am   #10firefreezes

hehe, YourMyDream, when the nerds parody the dead parrot scene!!

"This mummy hand hath ceased to be! It is an ex-mummy hand!" Classic (or rather, theft of a classic)

Most of s4 cracks me up. In Pangs when Spike is hopping around tied to the chair with arrows through him, I was dying laughing. And the thing with the bear *giggles*   And yeah, the whole Randy stuff in Tabula Rasa was awesome.

And my favourite line of all time - Out. For. A. Walk ...... bitch.....   Because his face when he makes the "shaka" sign is priceless

And the Hawai'i shirt wearing Spike was too cute *pinches his cheaks*

Oh oh and also when he first comes to them from the initiative, and he runs into the barrier flapping his blanket like a bird running into a window... we had a bird do that same movement for an hour once

And the scene in the tub!

Okay, will shush now

Unfortunately, we had big vampires in the next room, and I didn't think they'd wait while we had hot monkey sex. ~Cerulean Sins :: (Anita to Jean-Claude)“Is there anything your bloodline does that doesn’t involve getting naked?" ~Danse Macabre :: I’m dating three men, living with two more, and having occasional sex with two others. Thought of a couple more:

"Do I know you?" "You, uh, hit me with an axe one time. (mimes it) 'Get the hell away from my daughter.'"

The scene after Spike tries to bite Willow in The Initiative.

There are some hilarious Angel scenes as well... The Girl in Question has some great stuff, as was mentioned. Also, the scene when Cordy and Wes act out the Buffy/Angel saga.

The Angel dance! OMG...

When Angel discovers he can be in the sunlight in Pylea - "Can everyone just notice how much fire I'm *not* on?"

The episode when Lorne has the party, and everything he says, people do. (Hmm... I also like Something Blue... do I sense a theme?) When Gunn is peeing on everything, and Spike's all positive attitude guy, and Angel and Eve have sex, and Wesley and Fred are drunk... hee.

Writing should feel easy, like a monkey driving a speed boat.
Apr 06 2007 04:40 am   #13TwilightChild

  Wesley and Cordelia, in Angel:

Cordelia:  "Hey, I was at the top of my class!"

Wes: "And what class would that be, advanced bossoms?"

Then there's season 6 Buffy, with the nerd trio: Johnothan, quick, grab your magic bone!"

Apr 06 2007 05:41 am   #14beanie

Wow, there are tons of moments that make me laugh.

The "Master... bator." line always gets me.  The bear scene in Pangs is hilarious.  The nerds in S6 always crack me up as well as the line in "Earshot".

One that wasn't mentioned that always makes me laugh is in Chosen when Buffy comes down and sees the little picture of Angel on Spike's punching bag.  The picture itself is hysterical and then the whole reason for it makes it even more funny.

Also, puppet-Angel.

Apr 06 2007 06:32 am   #15Scarlet Ibis

"The Girl In Question" the whole ep- James and David= LMAO, IMHO.  Even that small scene in... the ep with Pavane, and they're talking on the couch and Spike mentions Barry Manilow...

also the Andrew moments in "Storyteller-" hilarious.  Oh!  And when they first unleashed Angelus in s4 when he was in that cage- the things he was saying to them... Loved it! And "Intervention"

Oh, and the whole James Bond convo between the nerds in "Life Serial."

The moment in Something Blue after Buffy and Spike tell Anaya and Xander they are getting married when Xander says" How? What? How? " Then Giles says "Three execellent questions." All so the part in Tabula Rasa when Spike and Giles think they are father and son. "Father!(glares) My god how I must hate you." And all so Buffy saying " A vampire with a soul. How lame is that."

Apr 06 2007 07:17 am   #17Scarlet Ibis

"I came, I conquered. I feel really bad about it."

"Stop, whatever you're doing- it smells like fruit rollups."

"I'm not the one who wants to go splash in the poo!"

"Out. For a. Walk. Bitch."

"... cause god knows you need a little satisfaction in life. And- and I never really liked you anyway, and you have stupid hair." (well okay, that one made me go aww, cause he was so childish as opposed to laughing out loud)

"It wasn't one time. It was lots of times. And lots of different ways. I could make sketches... Angel's lame; his hair goes straight up and he's bloody stupid... You're recently gay." Okay, I hope I'm done...

Who said Anya in the bunny suit? That's one of my all time faves.

I love Buffy & Cordelia vying for prom queen in S3's Homecoming - and the ending, when the *other* two contestants tie? Very funny.

Okay, let's see ... there are sooo many, it's really hard to choose...but for all time....

1. I absolutely LOVE the scene with Spike and Williow in "The Initiative". Priceless. Classic.

2. Pretty much everything the Buffybot says to the Scoobies in "Intervention"

3. Everything about "The Girl in Question"

4. Puppet Angel. Nuff said.

5. Wes and Cordy being Buffy and Angel, and him walking in and saying "Bite me" -- too funny.

6. Demon-Giles chasing Professor Walsh

7. Everything Olaf says in Selfless -- both pre- and post-troll spell... :P

Apr 06 2007 10:33 pm   #20slaymesoftly

Okay - had completely forgotten about Giles the demon - that whole thing was funny.

And, if we'removing on to Angel - what can you say about puppet Angel? How about the argument between Spike and Angel over who would win a fight -cave men or astronauts?  There was a lot of funny stuff in Angel.  Early on, when Spike appears to try to get his ring of Amaraa back and complements Cordy's hair and weight and she starts preening before she remembers who's talking to her.

Let's face it - Joss is a very funny person.

Spike falling off Harmony's bed after she whips out a stake - "you've been keeping that in our bed?"

Harmony and Xander's slap and hair pulling fight.

Buffy tormenting Spike in the bathtub by showing him her neck while he strains to reach her.

Buffy "Giles, I accidentally killed Spike.  That's all right isn't it?"

Buffy explaining to Riley that she's engaged to Spike.  "You'll really like him.  Well, nobody likes him."

Spike asking Angel if he wants to send a message to Buffy.  "Yeah, tell her you're a moron."

The entire scene where Spike practices apologizing to Buffy, using his Buffy mannequin and the beat up box of candy.

Buffybot's comments about Angel - "Angel's lame. His hair grows straight up, and he's bloody stupid."

Buffybot's discussion with Willow re sex with Spike - "It wasn't one time. It was lots of times. And lots of different ways. I could make sketches. "

Buffybot re Spike:  You're right. He's evil. (smiles) But you should see him naked. I mean really

Buffy's insistence that the Bot isn't a very good copy and the fact that none of her friends noticed that the Bot was a robot and not the real Buffy.

Stop me.

If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?
Apr 07 2007 01:49 am   #22Coquine

I just remembered a couple of instances where Buffy herself actually made me laugh.  In "Hush" when she mimes staking a vampire, then has to actually use a stake to make everyone understand that she didn't mean giving them a handjob.  Then when Giles shows them the picture of Buffy patrolling, her reaction to his drawing of her with wide hips.  Also at the end of the episode when she tried to tell Riley what he needed to smash to break the spell, and her exasperation when he got it wrong.  (Hmm...seems I think she's funnier when she doesn't talk...)

Also...I can't help it...I thought Cave Buffy was funny.

Bargaining, Part Une: (Spike to Giles)"Aw, poor shopkeeper's life flashed before his eyes: cuppa tea, cuppa tea, almost got shagged, cuppa tea."

Give me Spuffy, or give me death.

Watching Spike's reaction to Faith-as-Buffy's "pop like warm champagne" taunt is always amusing.

I also like the scene in Season 2 where Drusilla tries to feed Sunshine the puppy to a disgruntled wheelchair-bound Spike.

And still snicker-at-able is Spike muttering dark threats after Buffy (Your throat = My chalice, etc.), going for the dramatic exit, and promptly falling into an open grave.  ~asr

I always loved the line in Graduation Pt. 2 where Oz says "We attack the Mayor with humus."

Oh, and in Living Conditions when Buffy and Oz are patroling. the whole conversation, plus the slaying of the 'shifty' bench...priceless.

then there's the classic "Don't touch my clipboard!" in As5's Origin.

I always liked the season four scene between Willow and Spike, when he realized he couldn't bite her. He acted completely like a man who failed to perform, and Willow took over the role of the sympathetic girlfriend giving him a pep talk. She even suggested he wait a while and try again. That was hilarious considering he was trying to kill her. :P

ooh, The Intiative is hilarious!

well, just that one scene with Willow and Spike.

Also, Spike in Xander's Hawaiin. Gosh, i love that scene.

The Girl In Question. Best Angel episode ever.

Spike - (to Gunn) How do you say 'wank off' in Italian?

Andrew - (to Spike) Spike! O mio dio! *hug*

Spike and Angel on the motor scooter thing. "I'm not hopping on the back.."

And my personal favorite:

Spike - Buffy ran through you with a sword.

Angel - Yeah. But i made her do it. I signalled her with my eyes.

Apr 14 2007 10:28 am   #28Monty

Hm... In Doomed, when Xander gives Spike a plum-tongs thingy and Spike goes to hit him and falls back in pain... lol

Then, Pangs, when Spike runs at the barrier, someone already mentioned that, but I was really rofl to that.

Crush, when Spike's finishing his story in front of Buffy...

I Only Have Eyes For You, Drusilla saying she'll maybe sleep underground... perfectly insane, but funny

I'll stop...

All my favorites have been mentioned except one (I think). I love angry Spike yelling at the ungrateful Buffy about how he would get the chip out of his head and drink from her like a chalice (looking truly scary and angry) only to turn and fall into an empty grave. Great physical humor there by James. Kathleen

Something Blue

Buffy: One more word out of you, and I swear..
Spike: Swear, what? You're not gonna do anything to me. You don't got the stones.
Buffy: Oh, I got the stones. I got a whole bunch of .. stones.

Season 7 Him! man this episode had me laughing. The scene with Buffy and the bazooka and Willow trying to change RJ into a girl!

Buffy: Willow, you're a gay woman—and he isn't.
Willow: This isn't about his physical presence. It's about his heart.
Anya: His physical presence has a penis!

Willow: I can work around it!

bahahahaha...

Don't worry, be happy :)
Apr 15 2007 04:51 am   #32Eowyn315

Oh, good one, YMD... especially since it's the only funny episode in season 7.

Xander: Will, honey, RJ's a guy.
Willow: I did notice that, yeah. 'S why I'm doing my spell, 'cause, you know, he doesn't have to be.

Thought of another one - in Power Play or Not Fade Away (I forget which), when Angel says, "One of you will betray me" and Spike raises his hand. Then when Angel picks Wes, and Spike says, "Can I deny you three times?" Heehee.

Writing should feel easy, like a monkey driving a speed boat.

In 'Fear Itself', for halloween, Willow was dressed up as Joan of Arc and said she had a close relationship with god. Oz's costume was a little sticker on his shirt that said 'Hello, my name is GOD."

Puppet Angel had me in stiches! Especially when Spike starts taunting him and they get into a fight, of which angel wins, if i remember rightly :P I also love the bit in that episode where the gang leave to defeat the big bad, and they throw back the doors of angel's office confidently walking out and then the camera pans down and there's puppet angel in the lead with a sword over his sholders...Classic
