Oh, I've got plenty of those!

Here's bad hair on William (and fairly bad hair on his mum, too)

I think William's hair is cute here, but Angelus looks like he has a dead cat on his head.

Crazy-hair Spike (personally, I like this look. But a lot of people disagree

Ugly hair on Buffy (I hate short hair on SMG. And that flip at the ends? Ugh.

...Sorry that I couldn't insert the images right into the post. For some reason, even following the directions, it just wouldn't work for me.

I thought the short hair was cute. It was bouncy and swingy.

Anne's hair was alright. It was just long waves and curls. The William wigs were pretty bad....James said that they had a hard time finding him a wig that would fit his large head, and they weren't going to spend the time/money on a custom one. The Angelus ones are really bad, though! And then, there's Angel's hair from the '70s!

Crazy Spike......yeah, I don't like it like that. Now, when James had it long for that, but brushed back, and the ends were curling up at his nape? *drool* Yum!

I thought the short hair was *too* bouncy... it was too perky for Buffy's personality in season 6. I liked her hair in late season 2 or season 3... when she had it straight and in betweeny length (just at her shoulders). But you know what Buffy hair really frightens me? That crimpy business she did in season 4. Gah!

I kinda like the crazy Spike hair, but it's not my favorite (that would be the late season 5 touseled 'do - like crazy Spike, but shorter).

Those wigs were pretty horrendous. Don't have a pic offhand, but remember Angelus's ponytail phase? Eep.

How about early Tara for bad hair? That zigzag part...

I think the worst Spike hair was during the Boxer Rebellion scenes.  Having it all longish in front made it look like he had a receding hairline!  But I like crazy Spike hair too!

God, I adore the Boxer Rebellion hair on Spike. The way it fell over his forehead like that...yum. I even used a photograph of his hair like that, for one of my banners. Also, the scene where they're hiding in the mine shaft (also in Fool for Love) that was hot. It was basically the same as the Boxer Rebellion hair, except that it was short in back, instead of long.

I agree I liked the BR hair, but the other wigs a big no. And Buffy's hair in S4, ugh. Someone should have shot her hair dresser because that was wrong. I want pics of Angel's ponytail. I wasn't to fond of crazy Dpikr hair then but now I think it's yummy.

I love the Spike's hair when he's killing Nikki. Oh. I need a cold shower.

Ewww, zig zag  part on Tara. Just wrong. Or her hair in Tabula Rasa at the end. Yewwey.

Any Angelus hair is just plain wrong.

Boxer Rebellion Spike is one of my favorites.  What can I say?  Tho' subway Spike is right up there.

As for bad hair -- Three words:  Bangs. Buffy. Amends.

Okay, the short hair on Buffy in s6 made her look *way* old, and not in a "distinguished and more mature" kinda way.

Didn't like Buffy's too long, "I'm going crinkled because I'm too thin, and want to have *some type* of fullness on my body" hair.

Spike's Boxer Rebellion hair?  It was all good, until the wind started blowing, and then it did look like a receding hairline. Whoever tried to recreate his William hair in "Lies My Parents Told Me" was *WAY* off the makr- didn't he have sideburns?  And it was just... ewww.

Crazy basement Spike hair- I loved it.  If he went through the whole season with that hair, I'd lovedddddd it.  Any carnation of James' actual hair is fine by me.

When Angel started doing the longish kinda hair with a part on Angel s5- eww and more eww.

Liked Gunn with hair more than without.

Don't like Cordy short and blonde

And hated Willow's short do in s4- hated it!!

I loved Willow's short hair in s4 and crazy Spike hair too. Always hated Angeleus' hair. He looked like he wanted a sex change.

I prefer Spike's Intervention hair myself.

Regarding facialhair, three words:

Angelus, mustache, no.

Thank you.  ~asr

Kinda OT, but regarding facial hair...I've always been amused by the fact that everyone seems to thing that Spike doesn't have any/can't grow any.  I mean, obviously, as we saw with the crazy basement hair, the hair on his head can grow.  And Angelus showed us that vamps can grow facial hair.  But Spike came back after a summer of being insane with crazy head hair, but the writers on BtVS apparently decided that he found time for shaving.  And in fanfic it's even funnier, especially since I've read so many stories where Spike turns human and all of a sudden has to start shaving again.  Very few stories have actually addressed the issue, in some way acknowledging the fact that yes, he does actually shave, or that he just doesn't need to very often.

I'm kind of thinking that this has just been a personal issue of mine to notice it, but I also wonder if it's because a lot of women just don't like facial hair.  And really, for the most part I agree, but I have seen a few pics of James with a little five o'clock shadow going on, and *drool*......  Of course, that could also be leftover from my X-Men days when I couldn't get enough of Gambit.  Yes, I have in fact been a geek for a VERY long time.

*giggles*  Sorry for the randomness...it's WAY too early for me to be up on my freakin' day off!

ROFL - everyone has their own favs.  I, personally, love BR Spike - I could watch the scene of him strutting through the chaos forever.  And, I also love crazy Spike hair. Especially when the roots are showing.  Of course, 70's Spike is totally sexy, and season II Spike is also, and season V Spike was adorable, and...I seems to have a theme going here. LOL

The fact that he can grow hair on his head and yet never have to shave is a good plot hole point to point out. Just one of the many inconsistencies on the show.

BR strut?  Yum.  BR hair blowing in the wind?  Yuck.  It doesn't look too bad when he's fighting, though.  There's just this one strand that seriously makes it look like he's got a combover that blew off.  I've always been bothered by it! *g*

Dammit I was just logged in a minute ago.  That last one was from me...again.

I've actually seen one pic from a con where James grew a bit of facial hair...and his grows out in all kinds of colors, but nothing close to what William's hair was. There's a picture from his old theater days where he's wearing a distinguished full beard that's kinda hot, but otherwise, I haven't seen him wear more than the slightest hint of a shadow.......Wonder if the feel of it just really bugs him....

Yeah, it's really interesting that Spike had the magical always smooth face...I mean, William's kind of a baby face, but still.....pretty sure he had to shave....maybe the writers imagine it blond and fine and slow growing?  :P

For Spike's lack of facial hair, I think it's just James' personal preference.  That, and William was supposed to like... epitomize innocence, and facial hair wouldn't really go with that theme.  James has chest hair as well, but managed it for all of his shirtless scenes on the show. I'm not going to lie- I really, *really* don't care.

I still maintain that vampire Anne's hair looked like arse. It was way too young for her, too long, too curly, and just...I don't know. I hated it. And I still can't figure out why the wardrobe person couldn't have at least attempted to find a wig that resembled William's FFL hair. It's almost like they were mad at JM and tried to get back at him by making him wear a shaggy brown bathmat on his head.

I didn't like Buffy's hair in season 4 when she was crimping it, either. In fact, the only SMG hair I really liked was season 5 and early season 6. When it was a warmer blond color, wavy, and long, I think it really suited her. The bangs and highlights from earlier seasons were just...yuck.

UB, I didn't think it was so much getting back at JM as opposed to UPN people dropping the ball.  The following year when was was on the WB again, he had the regular, William FFL hair again in "Destiny" and TGIQ. I think there was a huge sigh of relief somewhere...

Scarlet Ibis -- I was just joking. :P

But I did like the Destiny hair. Classic William, plus all the slashy goodness with bad-hair Angelus.

Joking, yes... But I still gotta wonder why it was such a crappy and raggedy looking wig when he was on UPN and back to normal on the WB...

To return to the bad wig - none of the wigs (not even Angelus') begins to compare to the dumb wig they made Sarah wear right before they revealed her short hair do.  Buffy and Spike were in Buffy's kitchen and he was mooning over her beautiful hair.  That wig was the absolute rock bottom.  She looked like she had a turkey strapped on her head.

I liked the Buffy crimped hair look.  Made her look a little psychotic - perfect for Cave Slayer.

If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?
Apr 15 2007 06:31 am   #24Scarlet Ibis

Worked for cave Slayer, but it was mostly a cover up tactic cause she was so underweight.  They did it to Calista Flockart on "Ally McBeal" too when she got too thin, and Portia De Rossi... someone else I'm sure.  And I hated that LMPTM wig for William with a vengeance. Argh.

Yeah, Sarah did get down skinny for a while, though she didn't snap back to a less bony weight completely until the show was over. Guess those super long days took their toll.

Yeah, the fake long hair wig that she could chop was a really poor substitute for her beautiful early S6 hair. I loved the darker blond with just the slightest hint of red....like a dark honey. A lot closer to Sarah's natural color, too.

Hated the white blond front streak for Season 3. It was too pale for her complexion, and just made the hair look overdone. The blonde was still too bright in Season 4, too. Finally looked good by Season 5 to 6.

William's wigs almost always looked like something they borrowed at the last minute. At least, few men had good looking hair in those days, though, so they could get away with it.
